INTRO
Sometimes simplicity of the characters attracts you more than the plot, how the story flows and takes you along with the journey of few interesting events. Losing My Religion is tale of success, failure, adventure, friendship, love and the mind games. It is a win-win situation for an author as well as reader when characters of a novel captivates you and provoke you to read the whole book in a go.  Without being preachy, author weaved the life lessons so amazingly into his debut novel.

STRUCTURE
Losing My Religion is such a gripping tale of an entrepreneur, Rishi Rai whose life journey is somewhat like a rollercoaster ride. After establishing his name into gaming industry, he was sure for his next big project when suddenly his life took a fatal turn and everything ripped apart. He lost not only money but faith too. Like a random wanderer he left his place for an upcoming, unpredictable journey, where he met Alex and the sensuous cum intellectual Kyra. And how these three people bonded to each other just after few meetings that simply terrific.

As the genre goes it is an adventurous tale, so you got to enjoy the interesting destinations as well. Jhumpa Lahiri said “ Books make you travel without putting the feet out of bed” It is that kind of piece, there were beaches, long lasting  chats, few scintillating moments and a Quaint place Malana. Few scenes fixed into Haridwar, if you ever get a chance to visit there, it definitely makes you feel more connected with the story.

NARRATION
Anybody can write but it takes a skillful talent to write into reader's language, expressions matter most, more than words sometimes, so yes novel was written in simple form, including local dialect, I can’t say it was crisp narration but has potential to hooked you up till the end. If you are gaming addict, you would have enjoyed this thrilling story totally. A perfect blend of Love and adventure, I can’t put it into a classic list but it proved itself a fascinating read, for sure. You can make your weekend worthy with it.

READER’s MOMENT
When the heart has decided, no reasoning works - Kyra

You can’t be a spectator. You need to act. At the hour of reckoning, only the truest love survives - Rishi

I was running away from the failure instead of facing the reality and the brutes…that I had taken the easy way out in life. For a person like me, who revels in the beauty of creating, who finds reverence in his work, my own religion had become turncoat…had turned into a festering wound that would not heal despite my various attempts to do exactly that… The demons that were plaguing me were not outside but living inside me, In the shape of my obsession with success.

At times you have to lose your faith in something, be absolutely stone cold broke in your belief in belief, so that you can take the jump, leap out of the existence you have wrapped around yourself and take the plunge without thinking of the consequences. You will fall not doubt. But sometimes during that, you will witness a miracle taking shape around you. That’s called losing my religion.
