“If you listen to the fables in your childhood, that is great;
if you listen to the fables when you grow up, that is also great! Fables represent
imagination and imagination represents everything!”

When I pronounce fables, a hidden
sound echoes with it, that is childhood. Along with memories of friends,
reading under the shadow of mom’s lap, spending nights with our grandparent
under the whole glittering sky, If I could notice one thing that never changed
is the passion for stories. It started with the queen, and then comes, lion,
tiger, and king eventually. The way our personalities evolve through listen
these oral tales is indescribable. And when you find them into paper format I
assure you it is like having a treat with your old self.
Recently I got chance to explore Uday
Mane’s “Fables from India” it is a collection of twenty two stories. Mostly sets into ancient India. Every story
made me turn the page immediately. Narration was so simple yet interesting that
age group doesn’t bind it into any category, It is happy read for everyone, if
you enjoy fables.
I loved that author didn’t try to
preach anything, as we noticed into most of the fables. Every story entertain
us, made us lead into positive side of life, we enjoy them every moment.
Either It is king’s intelligence that costs
the prince his eyes. (The prince of aramadia) Or When an Young boy urges for his pet that displays
the beautiful connection between nature and human being, which have been
missing these days. (Nadir’s little lamb)
I love that story titled (The Sacred
Tree of Khamur) in which
A magnificent tree bears fruit of different kinds, but the king wants it to be
cut down to serve justice, and how tree defend itself in the end.
Besides these The
Bestselling Book, The Fortune
Teller, The Jungle
Laws, The Young
Man and The Sea, and
many more, I can’t mention all twenty two titles here but I loved to read them
all. Just simply beautiful.
