“Many writers are successful at expressing what’s in their hearts or articulating a particular point of view. Chetan Bhagat’s books do both and more.”
A.R. Rahman,

Few writers stay in our lives with a Tag “whatever you say, feel and think but you can’t ignore me’. This line sets best on Chetan Bhagat Sir. He knows what to say how to say, just like some professional who knows his part in others life very well. Every time he announced his new book, we wait while we know there will be another love story, but we can’t read literature all the time, heart needs party time too.

“Don’t kill yourself in trying to have it all. Just be normal, admit you won’t be excellent at everything every day and smile through life.”

Frankly speaking, I love his non-fiction writing skills more than anything else. Author amazed me literally with his first non-fiction “What Young India Wants” (Must Read) collection of some speeches and columns about society and culture but I liked the way he narrate his part.

“Drop regressive values in the name of Indian culture. The new Indian culture is to continuously evolve, change and adapt until we reach awesome levels.”

Now he comes with “Making India Awesome” Expectations were high after reading previous essays and I think he has done a great job. He knows the pulse of Indian readers, he not only feels the actual problem but discuss with open mind as well gives ideas how to cope up with them. That’s what I love about his book.

“We do think that ‘they are in power’ means ‘they can do anything’. We do not realize that ‘being in power’ means ‘being in power only to do things in the national interest’.”

He discussed many issues under four main categories— Politics, Society, Women’s Rights and lastly resources for youth. And he doesn’t force you to be agreed. Even he wants to you to emerge from your cocoon and think.

“Don’t sacrifice so much that you lose yourself. Not regularly, but just every now and then, be a little selfish. It is when a woman will assert herself that she will be taken seriously. You are not here only to assist others in living their lives. You have your own life too.”

Although it’s a collection of his write-ups and columns but it ought to be read, if you think a bit about India and you love to read.

We the Shameless, Swachh Congress Abhiyan, The Real Dirty Picture, Bhasha Bachao, Roman Hindi Apnao, Section 377, How the can get their due.

These are just few. You have to explore the book for more. Give it a Try.

"Also, I am not perfect, nor are all my thoughts in every section in this book perfect. But let this book be a starting point. Let it generate more ideas about how we can turn our shared dream into a reality."
